The Ancient Greeks inscribed the maxim “Know Thyself” upon the Temple of Apollo in Delphi because the greatest challenge we all must face is recognizing our mortality and coming to know our place within this life. It was a call for us all to think well, to explore what came before us and what may come after us and where we settle in the dust of humanity. It was a command to examine our place within the cosmos.
This Spring, I promised myself that I would start writing again. And here I am. For any stranger(s) on the internet that might stumble upon this: there is no purpose behind this site except to serve as a reservoir for my thoughts within the boundless entity that is the world wide web.
I hope my initial excitement about this pet project will translate into focus and stamina. That I will be more consistent than in the past with writing through this new outlet. That I might deem this space trustworthy and express my more vulnerable thoughts. That this might encourage me to seek out newness and open my world further. That I might come to know myself and you (whoever you are) might come to know me too.
